What are the symptoms of female infertility?



Infertility is a problem when women or men fails to conceive even after a year of healthy intercourse between them. This problem has become prevalent in most of the woman over 35 years or men these days. The growing age of getting married and having a baby as well as increasing stress in people to outshine in a highly competitive scenario is another reason that brings forth the problem of infertility. Infertility can also be caused due to several genetic, medical or certain unexplained reasons that doctors states.

Symptoms of female infertility are-

The most common and witnessed symptom of infertility is failure to become pregnant. The other common symptoms for infertility are an unbalanced menstrual cycle or irregular or no periods at all. The absence of periods means that the woman is not ovulating at all. A woman who is having a menstrual cycle which is too short or too long is also under the risk of this problems. This can be said as the most common signs of female infertility. However, a woman should be alert in discussing any problems related to their menstruation, if in case, they’re experiencing periods at an irregular intervals. The absence of period is one of the most obvious infertility warning signs for women.

How to check for infertility in women?

Infertility doctor suggests certain tests to check for infertility in woman. This includes a blood test for checking your levels of hormone and a biopsy for knowing the status of your endometrium or the lining of the uterus. 

Some of the test that are conducted for checking infertility in women are –

1.HSG or Hysterosalpinography: It is an ultrasound of your reproductive organs. The test involves injecting a dye or air into your cervix to check for any blockages in the tubes.

2.Laparoscopy: Under this method, the doctor puts a tube with camera, also called a laparoscope under your belly to check the status of your all reproductive organs including ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus and assess any abnormal growth in the same.

Most of the time, a doctor will be able to assess your problem. However, sometimes the doctor cannot diagnose the right cause of infertility in woman. About 20% of couples face the problem of infertility due to unexplained reasons in the country.

 Infertility can be cured now, by way of several assisted reproductive techniques as suggested by the doctors such as IVF, ICSI, IUI or any other surgical procedures as may be required for this purpose. There are also several fertility drugs prescribed by the doctor to help the people in gaining pregnancy.
